John Rodish;70;of 1340 Paradise Ave.;Belle Vernon;died Sunday May 29;1977 at 3:05 a.m. in the Golden Age Nursing Home;Brownsville. He was born in Gillespie on July 13;1906 and had lived in Fairhope most of his life. He retired eight years ago from the Mathies Mine of Consolidated Coal Co. Mr.Rodish was a member of the United Mine Workers of America;the Washington Twp.Volunteer Fire Dept.and the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club. He was preceded in death by two brothers;Frank and Joseph Rodish. Surviving are his widow;Anice Frankie Rodish;one daughter;Mrs.Fred (Marlene) Burton of North Charleroi;one brother;Steve Rodish of Fayette City;three sisters;Anna Rodish of Gillespie;Mrs.Catherine Lynn of Belle Vernon and Mrs.Mary Smider of Harpers Ferry;Va.;and one granddaughter;Kristin Burton. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral home;Belle Vernon;from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev.Evelyn Tharp of the Riverside Tabernacle;Sunnyside;officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
