Alfred Ross;78;of 1015 Lincoln Ave.;Charleroi;formerly of Monessen and Fayette City;died Friday;March 5;1976;at 12:10 a.m.in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr.Ross was the owner of The Foster House at the corner of Eighth St.and Donner Ave.in Monessen from 1936 until his retirement in 1969. He was a former Democratic county committeeman for Westmoreland County in the city of Monessen under Gov.George Earl and President Franklin D.Roosevelt from 1936 to 1940. Mr.Ross was born in Brooklyn;N.Y.;son of the late Domonick and Philomea Ferraro Ross. He served with Company E.5th replacemnt regiment at Camp Jordon;Atlanta;Ga.during World War I. His wife;Marie Ross;died on April 1;1972. Surviving are one brother;John Ross Ferraro of Long Island;N.Y.;two sisters;Mrs.Josephine Buccafuska of Jersey City;N.J.and Mrs.Florence Camparelli of Brooklyn;N.Y.;and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;after 7 p.m.Saturday. A Requiem Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 10 a.m.with the Rev.John Kluchko of Belle Vernon and the Very Rev.Vladimir Soroka of Ambridge officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Parastas services will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 8 p.m. Howard W.McCrory is funeral director in charge.
