Obituary

Harry E.Roley,77,of 116 Smithfield St.,Fairhope,died Friday,March 20,1970,at 10:55 p.m.,in Brownsville General Hospital,following a lengthy illness. He was born in Belle Vernon,Jan.28,1893,and was a retired coal miner. He was a member of the Marion Presbyterian Church,and a charter member of the Washington Twp.Fire Department. He belonged to the Fayette County Firemen's Association,and was a member of the board of directors of the Centerville Clinic. He was a past secretary of Local 7810,UMW. Survivors are his widow,Mrs.Nellie Davis Roley,one son,David Emerson of Connellsville,one daughter,Mrs.Ava Dorcan of Fairhope,a sister,Mrs.Anna White of Fairless Hills,three grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,until noon on Monday,when the remains will be removed to the Marion Presbyterian Church,where services will be held at 2 p.m.,in charge of the Rev.Donald Dilley. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. Washington Twp.Fire Department will hold services at the funeral home,Sunday at 8 p.m. Howard W.McCrory of Fayette City is the funeral dirctor.
