Obituary

Edward Robbins,63,of 102 Price St.,Belle Vernon,was killed almost instantly when a small truck he was working under slipped off a jack at the family garage about 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Charleroi-Monessen Hospital of a crushed chest and shock,Westmoreland County Coroner Stephen D.Yoney said. Mr.Robbins was a retired employee of the Allenport Works of Pittsburgh Steel Co. He was a member of Fayette City Presbyterian Church. He belonged to the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club. Born in Elco on Nov.17,1904,he was a son of the late John and Sarah Weightman Robbins. Surviving are his widow,Martha Jolley Robbins,a son,Richard Lee of Fullerton,Calif.,one daughter,Sarah Jane Robbins at home,a brother,William of Roscoe,one sister,Mrs.Lawrence (Edith) Weaver of Fairhope,one grandson. Friends are being received at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home in Fayette City.
