James R. Russell Sr.,114 Main St., Belle Vernon, died Monday morning,Oct. 17,1960 at 8 o'clock in the Charleroi-Monessen Hosptial. Born in Hazelton n Oct. 18, 1896,he was a member of the Belle Vernon Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Russell was a coal miner. Surviving are his wife, Blanche Robison Russell; five sons, John D. Russell of Carmichaels, James R. Jr. of Uniontown,Harry of Belle Vernon, Maurice of Monessen and Samuel at home; five daughters, Mrs. F.S. (Margaret) DeCarlo of Uniontown,Mrs. Kenneth (Geraldine) Brewer of Hopwood,Mrs. Marvin (Bertha) Kunkle of Weatherly,Mrs. Donald (Juila) Geller of Fayette City R.D., and Mrs. William (Sue) Flenniken of Charleroi R.D. Also surviving are 27 grandchildren;five brothers, William and Chester of Norristown,John and Glenwood of Collegeville and Harry of Yerks and two sisters, Susan Russell of Freeland and Mrs. Emma Whitney in South Dakota. Friends are being received at the George M. McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City. Prayer service will be held Thursday,Oct. 20 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home after which the remains will be taken to the Belle Vernon Church of the Nazarene to lie in state until time of service at 2 p.m. The Rev. Frederick Burchell will officiate. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. George M. McCrory and Son, funeral director.
