Harold B.Phillips;58;of 440 Henry St.;Belle Vernon;died Friday;Dec.19;1975 at 6:25 p.m.in Monongahela Division of Mon Valley Hospital. Mr.Phillips was born in Charleroi on Oct.14;1917. He was a veteran of World War II and a retired employee of the U.S.Postal Service in Belle Vernon. He was a member of the North Belle Vernon Fire Dept.;First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon and the Belle Vernon American Legion Post. He was preceded in death by his wife;Ada Llewellyn Phillips on Feb.21;1973. Survivors include one daughter;Marila (Vonne) Scherpf of New Carlisle;Ohio;one sister-in-law;Mrs.Thomas (Virginia) Abbott of Belle Vernon;and two grandchildren;Melisa and Mark Scherpf;both of New Carlisle;Ohio. Friends will be received in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home in Belle Vernon from 7 to 9 p.m.on Saturday;Dec.20;1975;and from 2 to 4 p.m.and 7 to 9 p.m.on Sunday;Dec.21;1975. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Monday;Dec.22;1975;at 11 a.m.;with Pastor R.Dawson Hopson of the First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon in charge. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson is the funeral director in charge.
