April 22;1899;a son of the late William Philip and Mary Flora Douglas Pierce. Surviving are his widow;Beatrice Connor Pierce;two sons;William L.of Stockdale and George in the Veterans Hospital in Buffalo;N.C.;one daughter;Mrs.Evelyn Hoyt of San Diego;Calif.;three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren;and two sisters;Mrs.John (Martha) Gorman of Perryopolis and Mrs.Elizabeth H.Howell of Forward Twp. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Ruth Eckert Funeral Home;Roscoe;where a service will be held Friday;Dec.31;at 1 p.m.with the Rev.Charles K.Sowden of the Fredericktown United Methodist Church officiating.
