Obituary

William A.Pancook,56,of Belle Vernon R.D.3 was prounced dead of a self-inflicted bullet wound of the temple at 11:15 a.m.March 28,1969,at his home at 51 Mobile Trailer Court,Belle Vernon R.D.3,Westmoreland County Coroner Stephen D.Yoney reported. Mr.Pancook,Yoney said,had been despondent over a lingering illness. Mr.Pancook was born in Monessen and had been a resident of the Valley most of his life. He was a veteran of World War II,having served with the Sixth Armored Division. He was office manager for the Bureau of Corporate Taxes in the State Office Bldg.,Pittsburgh. He was preceded in death by his mother,May B.Sherwin Pancook,Jan.3,1965. Survivors are his widow,Hazel of Harrisburg,one daughter,Mrs.Charles (Rosemary) Korbelli,Frederick,Md.,one sister,Mrs.Fred (Fern) Allen of Fellsburg,and a brother,Everett Pancook,of Monessen,athletic and vocational director in the Monessen public school system. Friends will be received at the Denver Rhome Funeral Home,Monessen,after 7 p.m. Saturday. Services will be held there Monday,March 31,at 1:30 p.m.,with the pastor of the Fells Methodist Church,in charge. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. Denver Rhome and Son are the funeral directors.
