Obituary

J. Paul Provance of 391 Jones Street, Belle Vernon,a former resident of Monongahela,died at his home Thursday,October 15,1964,at 3:25 p.m. A son of the late Frank and Anna May Rumble Provance,he was born in Belle Vernon July 30,1905,and was 59 years of age at his death.  He had lived in Monongahela 26 years before moving to Belle Vernon a year ago. He was a welder in the maintenance shop of the Monessen plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co.,where he had been employed for 42 years. Mr. Provance was a member of Belle Vernon Methodist Church and the Order of Owls of Monongahela. Surviving are his wife, Helen Addison Provance;one son,Frank Addison Provance of Pittsburgh;three daughters,Mrs. John (Jacqueline) Pover and Mrs. Jo Ann Ritchie,both of Monongahela,and Nancy June at home and eight grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Curtis,on February 26,1963,and his mother, who died March 16,1963. Friends will be received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon beginning at 2 p.m. Oct.17.  Funeral services will be held Monday,Oct.19 at 1:30 p.m. from the funeral home with the Rev. J.David Barclay,pastor of First Methodist Church, Belle Vernon,officiating.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Shelby D. Ferguson,funeral director.
