Obituary

Curtis M. Provance,66,of 226 Scalabrini Ave.,Fairhope,died in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital at 8 p.m. Tuesday,Feb. 26,1963. He retired in 1962 as a structural iron department foreman for the Monessen plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co. A resident of Fairhope for the past 28 years,Mr. Provance had been a member of the Fairhope Fire Dept.,the Western Pennsylvania Fire Dept. Association,and the Moose Club of Charleroi. He was born in Masontown,Pa.,on Nov. 11,1896. Surviving are his widow, Fannie Mannin Provance;one son,Jack A. Mannin,stationed with the U.S. Armed Forces in Puerto Rico;his mother, Mrs. Frank Provance of Belle Vernon;one brother,J. Paul Provance of Monongahela,and one grandchild. Friends will be received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home in Belle Vernon after 2 p.m.Feb. 28. Services there Saturday,March 2,at 1:30 p.m.in charge of Dr. S.Arthur Talman,pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon.  Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.
