Eugene (Pope) Pupilli,59,of 920 Hill St.,Belle Vernon,died in the Mercy Hospital,Pittsburgh Sunday, June 25,1961, at 3 a.m. He was born in Italy,June 23,1902,and had resided in Belle Vernon for 57 years. Mr. Pupilli was a member of the St. John the Divine Russian Orthodox Church,Monessen, the Moose lodge, Charleroi,the Italian Beneficial Society of Belle Vernon, the Belle Vernon Musical Society,and a social member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post. He was a foreman in the strip mill of the Allenport plant of the Pittsburgh Steel Co. Survivors are his widow, Mary Mihalega Pupilli,one son, Eugene Charles of Monroeville,one daughter, Mrs. Albion (Dolores) Frazier of North Hills, Pittsburgh; two brothers, Eldo Pupilli of Belle Vernon and Dino Pupilli of Fayette City;two sisters, Mrs. Lena Salvino and Mrs. Gena Schuresko of Belle Vernon and four grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon. Services there Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.,will be followed by additional rites in the St. John the Divine Russian Orthodox Church of Monessen. The Very Rev. John W. Govrusik will be in charge and interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D. Ferguson is the funeral director.
