James Prentice,Sr.,of 315 Fallowfield avenue, Charleroi,died in the Charleri-Monessen hospital,Sunday, December 29,1957,at 1:25 a.m. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio,October 29,1875,and came to Charleroi thirty years ago from Webster. He was a charter member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Donora,and was retired as a coal miner. He is survived by his wife, Clara Gilmer Prentice,six sons, Frank, Harry and David Prentice of Charleroi, Eugene at home, Daniel of Okmulgee, Oklahoma,and James,Jr.,of Washington,R.D.; five daughters, Mrs. Louis Hixson, Mrs. William Saunders and Mrs. Gladys McCormick,Mrs Anna Crabb of Charleroi,and Mrs. Domenick DiMascio of Van Nuys, California; one brother, Daniel Prentice,state of Utah; one sister,Mrs.Harry Shaw of Clairton; thirty-one grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren. Friends will be received by the family during hours of 1 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. at the Harold L. Schrock Funeral Home,where services will be held Tuesday,December 31,at 3 p.m. Rev. Robert Laing will be in charge,and interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Harold L. Schrock is the funeral director.
