George F.(Toots) Nichols;a well-known horseman in Rostraver Twp.;died Wednesday;March 21;1973 at 9:35 p.m.in Brownsville General Hospital. He was 70 and his residence was on Ridge Road;Belle Vernon;R.D.3. Mr.Nichols was born in Sturgeon on Nov.7;1902;a son of the late Joseph and Sarah Bowater Nichols. He retired from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.after 44 years of service. Preceding him in death was his wife;Virginia Jean Tomasi Nichols;on March 11;1965. Surviving is one daughter;Mrs.Harry (Clara) Klochak of Belle Vernon R.D.1;and two brothers;James Nichols of Grindstone and Isaiah Nichols of Belle Vernon. Friends are being received at the McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;where Blessing services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m.with Msgr.Martin J.O’Toole of St.Sebastian R.C.Church;Belle Vernon;officiating.
