Oliver William (Jake) Niemela;70;of 1359 Paradise Ave.;Fairhope;died at his home Sunday;Nov.19;1972;at 10:30 a.m.after a lengthy illness. He was born in Tampere;Finland;Feb.15;1902;a son of the late Charles and Ida M.Pastobak Niemela;who were residents of Speers Hill. He was a retired employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel’s Allenport Plant. Surviving are his widow;Helen Matson Niemela;two sons;oliver Niemela Jr.of New Providence;N.J.;and Donald of Perryopolis R.D.1;seven grandchildren;three brothers;Charles of Speers Hill;John of Lynnwood and Everett of Ben Avon;Pittsburgh;four sisters;Elizabeth Neimela of Speers Hill;Mrs.Paul (Eva) Passoja of Speers Hill;Mrs.Ellis (Helen) Sphar of Charleroi and Mrs.Joseph (Elsa) Connell of Mt.Lebanon. Friends are being received at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;where a service will be Wednesday;Nov.22;at 1:30 p.m.with the Rev.Gary A.Risher of St.Luke Lutheran Church;Monessen;officiating.
