John A.Novakovich;57;died suddenly at his home at 116 Allen Ave.;Belle Vernon on Friday;March 17;1972;at 7:15 a.m. He was born July 22;1914;at Eveleta;Minn.;a son of the late Matthew and Agnes Novakovich. He had lived in Belle Vernon the past 24 years and was a former resident of Monessen. He belonged to St.Sebastian R.C.Church;Belle Vernon;and the Monessen Croatian Club. He was a veteran of World War II. He retired due to ill health from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.in 1969. He is survived by his widow;Vivian Smiddle Novakovich;a son;Paul;and a daughter;Patricia;both at home;two brothers;Anthony of Britt;Minn.;and Nick of Walla Walla;Wash.;three sisters;Mrs.Matthew (Stefa) Mashuga of Chisholm;Minn.;Mrs.Arvo (Helen) Lahti of Aurora;Minn.;and Mrs.Orlando (Frances) Gentile of Gilbert;Minn. He was preceded in death by a brother;Steve. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;Belle Vvernon;after 7 p.m.Saturday. Prayer services at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m.Monday followed by Mass of Resurrection at 10 a.m.Monday at St.Sebastian R.C.Church with Msgr.Martin J.O’Toole officiating.
