John C. Neil,76,of 922 Graham St.,Belle Vernon,died suddenly at the Methodist Hospital in Arcadia,Calif.,Tuesday,Dec. 31,1968 at 8:05 a.m. Mr. Neil was in California visiting his daughter,Mrs. Peter (Rose) Gasper of Temple City. Born in Milesville,Pa.,March 30,1892,he had lived in Belle Vernon since 1925. He retired in 1962 from the round house of the Monessen plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. His wife,Sadye V.,died on Nov. 5,1964. Surviving are four sons,Clovis of Dallas,Tex.,John of Temple City,Calif.,Robert of Speers,and Armus of Laurel,Md.; three daughters,Mrs. Gasper of Temple City,Mrs. Frances Riskey and Mrs. Jesse (Sadye) Myers,both of Belle Vernon and ten grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,after 7 p.m. Jan. 3 and from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Jan.4. Service there Sunday,Jan.5,at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Richard D. Snyder,pastor of Belle Vernon's First United Methodist Church,officiating. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D. Ferguson is funeral director.
