Obituary

George T.Monroe,79,of 401 Johnson Ave.,Belle Vernon,died Tuesday morning,Nov.23,1971,at 4:30 in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital.  Born in Scotland on Aug.22,1892,Mr.Monroe was a resident of Belle Vernon for the last 23 years.  Previously he had lived in Monessen.  He retired from his employment in the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittburgh Steel Corp.in 1957.  Preceded in death by his wife,Della,on Jan.1,1966,he is survived by four nieces,Mrs.Virginia Fagan of Belle Venron,Mrs.Jack (Beth) Vinton of Indiana,Mrs. Paul (Rena) Ott of McConnellsburg,Mrs.Louis (Mary Ellen) Stimaker of Webster;seven grandnieces and four grandnephews,and a sister-in-law,Mrs.Elizabeth Reese of Belle Vernon.  Friends are being received at the Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon after 7 p.m. Tuesday.  Funeral home visiting hours are from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.  Services will be held Thursday,Nov.25 at 11 a.m.with the Rev.Howard Rodebaugh,pastor of the Pricedale Union Church,officiating.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director,in charge.
