Obituary

Bruce B.McDonald,63,street commissioner of Speers,a post he held 15 years,died Tuesday,June 21,1966,at 5:54 a.m. in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. He had been in failing health for some time. Mr.McDonald,who lived at 138 State St.,Speers Hill,had been superintendent of the Municipal Water Works of the Borough of Speers until it was sold last January. He was a member of the Garibaldi Beneficial Society of Dunlevy and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen of Monessen. Born at Flemington,W.Va.,Feb.10,1903,he had lived in Speers 46 years,coming to Speers from Dunlevy. Surviving are his widow,Mary (Gaskill) McDonald,two daughters,Mrs.William (Constance) Hayes of Philadelphia and Mrs.Charles (Betty) Gilligan of Belle Vernon and four grandchildren. Friends will be received after 2 pm.June 22 at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon. Service there Friday,June 24,at 1:30 p.m.with the Rev.Charles K.Sowden,pastor of Speers Methodist Church,officiating. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director.
