Obituary

Ralph E. Mahoney,57,of Phoenix, Ariz. died suddenly Sunday,Aug.29,1965, at 3:30 a.m. in Charleroi- Monessen Hospital. Mr. Mahoney had been visiting with his mother-in-law, Mrs. Fred Zollars of Belle Vernon. Mr. Mahoney was employed as a staff writer for the Arizona Republic newspaper in Phoenix and was a former employe of The Charleroi Mail and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. He was a veteran of World War II. Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Vera Zollars Mahoney, one daughter,Karen, and one son, Kurt,both of Phoenix,his mother, Mrs. Edith Mahoney of Pittsburgh, two sisters, Edna Mahoney of Pittsburgh and Mrs. James (Marion) Lake of Canton, Ohio. Friends will be received at the Harold R. Toner Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Services will be held Wednesday,Sept.1,1965,at 2 p.m.from the funeral home with the Rev.Charles Zacher of Christ Lutheran Church,Charleroi,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Harold R.Toner,funeral director.
