Obituary

Joint funeral services will be held Saturday morning,Jan.30,1965,for a Belle Vernon couple who died within a day of each other. The husband,Joseph Mazza,75,was pronounced dead of natural causes at his home at 419 Bluff St.,Wednesday,Jan.27,1965. His wife,Lucia,80,died of natural causes in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital Thursday morning,Jan.28,1965. The couple had been married 55 years. Both were born in Italy,Mr.Mazza on Nov.19,1889,and Mrs.Mazza,Feb.3,1884. A resident of Belle Vernon for 50 years,Mr.Mazza was a retired employee of the Allenport Plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co. Mrs. Mazza had resided in Belle Vernon since 1921. Their survivors include a son,Antonio (Sam) Mazza,Monessen,one grandchild and one great-grandchild. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,after 7 p.m.,Jan.28,1965. Services there Saturday,Jan.30,1965,at 9:
30 a.m.followed by Requiem High Mass at 10 a.m. in St.Sebastian's R.C.Church,Belle Vernon. The Rev.Martin J.O'Toole,pastor,will officiate. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director.
