William A.Legler Sr.;60;of 217 Tyrol Pass;Monessen;died Wednesday;May 2;1973 at 3:15 a.m.in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. He was born in Belle Vernon on May 4;1912 and was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659. He served in the U.S.Navy during World War II. Mr.Lagler had been on sick leave from Pennsylvania Department of Transportation since July;1972. Surviving are his widow;Helen Pleva Lagler;one son;William J.Lagler Jr.of Lithia Springs;Ga.;one daughter;Mrs.William (Lillian) Mason of Belle Vernon;four sisters;Rose Lagler;Alice Yuille;Mrs.John (Dolly) LLoyd and Lillian (Toots) Cornell Rutsky;all of Belle Vernon;and four grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Ferguson Funeral Home;Belle Vernon from 7 to 9 p.m.Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Friday. Services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m.at the funeral home with the Rev.Frank B.Garlathy of Fayette City United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
