Obituary

Matthew Lemon,58,of 111 Monessen Highway,Pricedale,suffered a heart attack at home Saturday Feb.10,1973,and was prounced dead on arrival at Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. He was born in Scumpter,S.C.,March 16,1914,and resided in Pricedale the past 41 years. Mr.Lemon was a member of Antioch Baptist Church,Belle Vernon,and past master of Twin Lodge 67,F&AM,Pricedale. He worked at the Bethlehem Mines Corp.,Cokeburg. Surviving are his widow,Georgia,two sons,T-Sgt.Clarence Lemon of San Angelo,Texas and Charles Lemon of Pittsburgh,five daughters,Mrs.Geraldine Williamson,Caroline Lemon and Mrs.Charlene Prunty,all of Pittsburgh,Mrs.Patsy Moore of Los Angeles,Calif. and Mrs.Connie Monroe of Baltimore,Md.,his father,Douglas L.Lemon,Belle Vernon,two brothers,George Lemon and Jerome Lemon,both of Belle Vernon,one sister,Mrs.Lena Payne of Pittsburgh and 15 grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Beverly C.Draper Funeral Home,Monessen,from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. The body will be taken to Antioch Baptist Church,Belle Vernon,Tuesday at 2 p.m. and Masonc Services will be held there at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Rev.A.C.Morris,pastor,officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
