Eugene Lassiter;69;of 634 Locust St.;Monessen;died Saturday Dec.4;1971;at 11 p.m.in Veterans Hospital;Pittsburgh. Born in Norfolk;Va.;he was a veteran of World War I and a 30-year member of the U.S.Coast Guard. Mr.Lassiter was also a retired employee of the U.S.Steel Corp.;having worked in Rankin;and was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church of Monessen. Surviving are his widow;Mrs.Grace Lassiter;three sons;Eugene Jr.and Clifton Lassiter;both in Florida;and Richard Stewart of Monessen;two daughters;Sondra Lassiter of New York City and Mrs.Sammie Clement of Chicago;five sisters;Mrs.Cecelia Goosley and Velma Lassiter of New York City;and Mrs.Ruth Shields and Doris and Ollie Lassiter;all in Virginia;10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
