Mrs. Cozie W. Lewellen,54,of 500 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,a teacher in North Belle Vernon grade schools for the past 14 years, died Thursday, Jan. 21,1960 at 9:30 p.m. in the Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. Mrs. Lewellen moved to Belle Vernon from California,Pa. in 1933. She was a member of the First Methodist Church,Belle Vernon and was president of the Philathea Class of the church. Surviving are her husband,Garrett A. Lewellen; one son,Wilbur G.,a student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology,Cambridge, Mass.; a brother, Robert E. Watson of Edgewood, Pa.,three sisters, Mrs. Clyde Jones of Forest Hills,Pittsburgh,Mrs. Lawrence Miller of Irwin and Mrs. J.G. Tishue of Confluence. Friends will be received at the Shelby Ferguson Funeral Home,Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,from 1 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 25,at 2 p.m. from the funeral home,with the Rev. William Schatz,pastor of the First Methodist Church,Belle Vernon,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby Ferguson, funeral director.
