Arthur E. LeVan,sr.,aged 60 years, of 304 Ninth Street, night watchman in Charleroi,died suddenly Wednesday night,Sept. 30,1953,shortly after eight o'clock. He was found at Eighth Street and Fallowfield Avenue and the local ambulance called. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. Born May 18,1893,in Charleroi,he had always resided here. For a number of years he had been night watchman. He was a member of Charleroi lodge, Independent Order of Odd Fellows,and of the Presbyterian Church of Charleroi. Surviving are his wife, Maude,two sons, Arthur E.,Jr.,of Easton,Pa.,and Eugene C. of Allenport,one daughter, Mrs. Juniata J. Diehl of Allentowm one sister, Bertha E. Roux of Charleroi and six grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Francis C. Slezak Funeral Home. Services will be held there Monday. October 5,1953,at 3 p.m.,in charge of Rev. C.J. Patterson. Francis C. Slezak is the funeral director.
