Obituary

Frank Kocian of 10 James St.,Belle Vernon,died Thursday,Nov.10,1977,at 10:46 a.m.in Brownsville General Hospital. He was 90. Mr.Kocian was born Sept.15,1887 in Czechosolvakia. He was a lifelong resident of the Mon Valley and a lifeling coal miner having retired in 1952. Mr.Kocian was a member of St.Sebastian R.C.Church,Belle Vernon,and Jednola Lodge,Branch 155,Charleroi. He was preceded in death by his wife,Mari Janac Kocian,in 1965,a son,Frank Jr.,in 1971,and a daughter,Rose Sedlak,in 1973. Survivors include one son,Steve Kocian of Belle Vernon,six daughters,Mrs.Thomas (Helen) Mogan of Massachusetts,Mrs.Joseph (Agnes) Fidnarik of Belle Vernon,Mrs.Frank (Mary) Blumenstock of New Jersey,Mrs.Maurice (Ann) Jeffers of Michigan,Mrs.Joseph (Margaret) Butera of Charleroi,and Mrs.Joseph (Dolores) Snyder of Ohio,17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,from 7 to 9 p.m.Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Sunday. A prayer service will be held in the funeral home Monday at 9:30 a.m.followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.in St.Sebastian R.C.Church,Belle Vernon. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
