Obituary

William C.Kitto,Sr.,84,of Crest Drive,Sweeney Plan,Belle Vernon,died Friday,Oct.15,1971,at 4:50 a.m. in Haven Crest Nursing Home,Monongahela. Mr.Kitto was born in Johnstown on Jan.4,1887. A former director of raw materials for the then Pittsburgh Steel Co.,he was active in community affairs in Monessen,having been a director of the Chamber of Commerce and of the Monessen Public Library. He was a member of the Monessen Elks Lodge and the American Iron and Steel Institute. He had been in retirement since 1950. His wife,Mary C.Kitto,died Jan.20,1954. He is survived by one son,William C.Jr.of Belle Vernon,one sister,Mrs.John Hall of Roswell,N.M.,and one granddaughter,Carol L.Kitto of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received Saturday at the Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon where visiting hours are 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home Monday,Oct.18,1971 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev.Charles Colas,pastor of the First Baptist Church of Belle Vernon,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director in charge.
