Joseph Kachala,Sr.,63,of 726 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi,died suddenly Sunday, Dec. 23,1962,at 8:35 p.m. He was born in Charleroi,Mar.17,1899. He was retired as moving picture projectionist at the Palace Theatre in Charleroi. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church,Charleroi,and the National Slovak Society,112,Charleroi. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Mary Yuschak Kachala,one son, Joseph,Jr.,at home,one daughter,Sonya Ann, at home,and one brother, William Kachala of Charleroi. Friends are being received at the Michael A. Melinchak Funeral Home in Charleroi during hours of 1 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Brief Prayers there at 9 a.m. Thursday,Dec. 27,followed at 9:30 a.m. by Divine Liturgy in Holy Trinity R.C.Church,Charleroi. The Rev. Vladimir Soroka, pastor, will be in charge. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Parastas services at the funeral home Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings,Dec. 24,25 and 26, at 8 o'clock.
