Edna D.Johnson;72;of 1236 Highland Ave.;Monessen;died on Wednesday at 7:35 p.m.in John Kane Hospital;Pittsburgh;after a lingering illness. She was born in Chester;S.C.in 1900 and was a member of Wayman AME Church;Monessen and Alphia Court of Calanthes No.159. Mrs.Johnson is survived by two sons;Walter Davis of Oklahoma City;Okla.and Edward Johnson of Monessen;three sisters;Bertha Reid of Chester;S.C.;Mrs.Hattie Anderson of Rankin and Mrs.Laura Halsey of Union;S.C.;and 11 grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Taylor Funeral Home;Monessen;from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Saturday and Sunday. Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m.at Wayman AME Church;Monessen;with the Rev.Robert Dye;pastor;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. William R.Taylor;funeral director;in charge.
