Obituary

George P. Johnston,81,of 231 Main St.,Belle Vernon,died Wednesday,June 12,1968,at 5:45 p.m. in the Golden Age Nursing Home, Brownsville. He was born in West Elizabeth on Dec. 6,1886.  A retired coal miner, Mr. Johnston is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Alvin Peters of Perryopolis,Mrs. Albin Bartrom of Donora and Mrs. William H. Wolfe of Renton, Pa.;a son ,George L.of Belle Vernon,seventeen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. Friends are being received at the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,where a service will take place Saturday, June 15,at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Charles Colas,pastor of Belle Vernon's First Baptist Church,officiating.  Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Howard W. McCrory is the funeral director.
