Mike Halkowitz; 86; of 116
Price Ave.; Belle Vernon; died Thursday;Sept.16;1976 at 11:45 p.m. at his
home. He was born Aug. 9; 1890 in
Muncas; Hungary and was a
Belle Vernon resident for over
60 years.
Mr. Halkowitz retired in
1958 from the Allenport Plant
of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel
Corp. He was a member of
St. Sebastian Catholic Church
of Belle Vernon and the
Hungarian Beneficial Club of
Monessen.
He was preceded in death by
his wife; Magdalene Derda
Halkowitz; on Oct. 16;1965 and
a son; Alex Halkowitz; on June
4;1971.
Surviving are three
daughters; Mrs. Regis
(Magdalene) Greenway of
Pittsburgh; Miss Margaret
Halkowitz at home and Mrs.
James (Frances) Whittaker of
Monongahela; and 10
grandchildren.
Friends will be received at
the Shelby D. Ferguson
Funeral Home; 700 Broad
Ave.; Belle Vernon; Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Prayer services will be held Saturday Sept.18;1976;at 9:30 a.m.at the funeral home;followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.at St.Sebastian Catholic Church;Belle Vernon. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson is funeral director in charge of arrangements.
