Jerry (Gerald) D.Hughes;46;of 265 West 153rd St.;New York City;N.Y.;formerly of Monessen and Donora;died suddenly at 6 p.m.on Monday;Feb.17;1975. He was born in Monessen on Jan.14;1929;son of the late Rev.and Mrs.John J.Hughes;and lived most of his life in Monessen and Donora before moving to New York. He was a veteran of service in the U.S.Navy. Surviving are his widow;Mrs.Gladys Hughes of Midland;Pa.;three daughters;Mrs.Linda Brown;Mrs.Geraldine Greene and Debra Hughes;all of Midland;four brothers;James Hughes of Philadelphia;Joseph Hughes of New York;Robert Hughes of Clairton;Louis Hughes of Homestead;four sisters;Mrs.Rosa Thompson and Mrs.Helen Carpenter;both of Monessen;Mrs.June Scott and Mrs.Betty Simpson;both of Hiller;and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Percy law Jr.Funeral Home;Donora;after 7 p.m.Friday. Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m.at the funeral home with Elder Sylvester Merritt;officiating.
