Ernest Horn;83;of 29 Knox Ave.;Monessen;died Tuesday;May 15;1973;at 6:15 a.m.in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. He had been ill the past month. Mr.Horn was born in Clarksville on Dec.14;1889. He was the son of the late David Newton and Elizabeth Fulton Horn. He retired from the Irvin Works of United States Steel. He was a member of First Baptist Church;Monessen. He was preceded in death by a son;Eugene;in 1962. Surviving are his widow;Robenia Duncan Horn;one son;Fred Horn of Monessen;two daughters;Mrs.John (Dorothy) Lender of Monessen and Mrs.Burton (Marjorie) Hazlett of Bryan;Ohio;three brothers;Frank and Leslie E.;both of Amity;and Carl of Waynesburg;one sister;Cora Horn of Amity;11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Rhome Funeral Home;Monessen;after 2 p.m.Wednesday. Visiting hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m.in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev.Edward A.Pollock Jr.;pastor of First Baptist Church;Monessen;officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Rhome funeral directors in charge.
