George Hela;60;of Cook St.extension;Fayette City;died on Monday;April 9;1973;at 12:20 a.m.in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. He was born in Fayette City on December 12;1912 and was member of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church;Charleroi. He had been employed at the Allenport Works of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was preceded in death by a son;George Joseph Hela;in 1964;and a brother;Michael;in 1970. Surviving are his widow;Elizabeth Brody Hela;two sons;John Hela of Norton Air Force Base;San Bernadino;Calif.and Stephen Hela of Perryopolis;five brothers;John and Charles;both of Perryopolis;R.D.;Pete of Vandervilt;R.D.;Andrew and Steve;both of Fayette City;one sister;Mrs.John (Ann) Kushnar of Fayette City;and seven grandchildren. Friends will be received at the late home after 7 p.m.today. Funeral services will be held there on Thursday at 9 a.m.followed by a Requiem Service at 10 a.m.in Holy Trinity Orthodox Church;Charleroi;with the Rev.Valdimir Soroka;pastor;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Parastas services will be held at the home on both Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at 8 o’clock.
