Obituary

Steve Hayduk,51,commander of Charleroi Arden Calvert Post 167,Veterans of Foreign Wars,died at 1:30 p.m.Tuesday,July 13,1971,while vacationing in Atlantic City,N.J. Mr.Hayduk,who was born in Belle Vernon June 20,1920,was a resident of 412 Jones St.,Belle Vernon. He was the son of Mrs.Mary and the late Steve Hayduk. He was a member of St.Cyril & Methodius R.C.Church,Charleroi. He was department manager at Mon-Valley Provision Co.,Charleroi. Besides his mother,he is survived by his widow,Carol Davenport Hayduk,two brothers,John of Belle Vernon and Cyril of Arizona,and three sisters,Mrs.John (Ann) Gadus of Pricedale,Mrs.Mary Walkush of Willowick,Ohio,and Mrs.John (Virginia) Horvath of Belle Vernon. Friends are being received at the Michael A.Melinchak Funeral Home,825 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi,where a prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m.Saturday followed by a Requiem High Mass at 10 a.m.in Sts.Cyril & Methodius R.C.Church of Charleroi,with the Rev.Andrew Bjalebak,the celebrant. Burial will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Michael A.Melinchak is the funeral director.
