The Conflict in Vietnam has claimed another Mon Valley victim. He is Spec.4Larry Owen Harden;20;son of Mr.and Mrs.Melvin Harden of 1354 Sadowski St.;Fairhope. Spec.Harden was killed Tuesday;Jan.5;1971;while serving as a crew chief aboard a helicopter which crashed while on a mission. Licensed by the Federal Avaition Agency (FAA) as an air mechanic;Harden was a 1967 graduate of belle vernon Area high School and had also graduated from the Pittsburgh institute of Aeronautics. He was a lifetime member of the Charleroi chapter of DeMolay. Survivors include his parents;Melvin O.and Georgina Bush Harden;one sistter;Mrs.Charles (Becky Lee) Wood of Greenburg R.D.5;and his paternal grandmother;Mrs.Elsie T.Harden of Fairhope. Services for Spec.4 Harden will be held Jan.16 with burial in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
