A former Monessen woman, Mrs. Lillie B. Hughes,87,of 723 Henry St.,Belle Vernon, died in Brownsville's Golden Age Nursing Home at 5:10 p.m.on Thursday, May 8,1969. Born in Blairsville,April 30,1882,she had lived in Belle Vernon since 1948,moving to Belle Vernon from Monessen. Mrs. Hughes was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Monessen. Her husband, William, died in 1942. Surviving are four sons, Francis M. of Belle Vernon,with whom she made her home,William of Belle Vernon,Woodrow of Fellsburg and Charles of Green Valley,Mckeesport, a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Dorothy) Fisher of Monongahela;18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,after 7 p.m. May 10. Service there Monday May 12,at 1:30 p.m.,with the Rev. Jospeh C. Riel Jr.,pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Monessen officiating. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D. Ferguson,funeral director in charge.
