Obituary

Mrs.Alice Hammitt,84,of 204 Fourth St.,Belle Vernon,died in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital Wednesday,Dec.20,1967,at 3:40 p.m. after a lingering illness. Born in Belle Vernon on Nov.20,1883,she was a daughter of the late Adam and Isabelle Griffith. She is survived by her husband,William,four daughters,Mrs.Raymond (Amy) Sterner and Mrs.William (Helen) Jackson,both of Belle Vernon,Mrs.James W.(Evelyn) Grant of Titusville,Mrs.Eleanor Bajoczky of Miama,Fla.,a son,Herman of Monessen,one brother,Clarence Griffith of Monongahela,a sister,Mrs.Margaret Ward of Roscoe,twelve grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Friends are being received at the Harold R.Toner Funeral Home,Belle Vernon from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Services there Saturday,Dec.23,at 2 p.m.with George Johnson,minister of the Church of Jesus Christ of Roscoe,officiating. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. Harold R.Toner is funeral director.
