Mrs. Jane C. Hamilton, 79, of Canonsburg R. D. 1, formerly of Belle Vernon, died Friday,Aug.5,1966 at 2:55 a.m. in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. Mrs. Hamilton moved to Canonsburg six years ago to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Richard (Grace) Poole. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon. Mrs. Hamilton was born at Craighead, England, May 16,1887. Her husband, Thomas, died Sept. 17, 1929. Surviving are three sons,Thomas of Newark, N. J., Boyd of Belle Vernon and Staff Sgt.Charles W. with the United States Army in Viet Nam; six daughters, Mrs. Richard (Grace) Poole of Canonsburg R. D. 1, Mrs. Roy (Edith) Smock of Belle Vernon, Mrs.Earl (Mildred) Wafal of Monessen, Mrs. Paul (Eunice) Williams of West Orange, N. J.,Mrs. Stephen (Delia) Koskoski of Donora and Mrs. Albert (Norma) Lewis of Monessen; one brother, Thomas Staff of Belle Vernon; thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,after 2 p.m.Aug.6. Service there Monday,Aug.8,at 1:30 p.m. with Dr.S. Arthur Talman,pastor of the First Presbyterian Church at Belle Vernon,officiating. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director.
