Ruth Z. Hughes, 37, of 463 Clarendon Ave.,Monessen,formerly of Brownsville,died Friday, Jan. 8,1965 at 2 a.m. in Marcy State Hospital,Pittsburgh. She was born in Monessen,Jan. 31,1927. She was a member of the Macedonia Pentecostal Church, Arnold City and the Missionary Society of the church. Preceded in death by her mother,Mrs. Theola Hughes on Nov. 16,1964,she is survived by a son, Albert of Monessen;four sisters, Rose Thompson and Helen Carpenter of Monessen and June Mickens and Betty Simpson of Brownsville;five brothers, James of Philadelphia,Jerry and Joseph of New York City,Robert with the U.S.Army in Germany and Larry of Brownsville;two aunts, Pauline Simmons of Long Island,N.Y. and Essie Temer of Spartinsburg, S.C. and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Donald Law Funeral Home,135 Angle St.,Brownsville,after 4 p.m.,Jan.11. Funeral services will be held from the Macedonia Pentecostal Church,Arnold City,TuesdayJan.12 at 1p.m. Elder Vermer Dupree will officiate. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
