Helen L. Salisbury, 81, of Irwin, died Sunday, March 19, 2017, at the Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Jan. 10, 1936, in Belle Vernon, daughter of the late Clarence McCullough and Helen Walkush McCullough. She was a member of the St. Edwards Roman Catholic Church in Herminie. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James G. Salisbury; three brothers, Edward, William and George McCullough, and sister, Linda Kistler. She is survived by her son, James G. Salisbury II and wife, Kathy, of Madison; two daughters, Valerie Desmond and husband, James, of Irwin, and Deborah Turnsek and husband, John, of West Newton; one sister, Barbara Moorehead and husband, George, of West Newton; two brothers, Clarence (Mac) McCullough and wife, Sophia, of Houston, and Robert McCullough and wife, Linda, of Fredericktown; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017, at the BEATTY-RICH FUNERAL HOME INC., Route 136, Madison. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2017, in the St. Edwards Roman Catholic Church in Hermine, with Father Frank Gan as celebrant. Interment will follow at the Belle Vernon Cemetery in Belle Vernon.
