Obituary

Duane Leonard Doty,30,of Dunlevy was pronounced dead at the scene of a traffic accident,Friday,April 24,1981,at 12:05 a.m.at the Charleroi exit of Interstate 70 in Speers. Duane was born May 4,1950 in North Charleroi. He had been a Monessen resident most of his life and was a graduate of Monessen High School,class of 1968. Mr.Doty was also a graduate of the Institute of Computer Management,Pittsburgh,and was employed at the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. He was a U.S.Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr.Doty was Catholic by faith. Survivors include his parents,Leonard and Dorothy Paytas Doty of Monessen,a sister,Mrs.Charles (Lenny) Urbanowicz of Monessen,a brother,Ronald Doty of Greensburg,a niece,Melissa Doty of Greensburg,maternal grandparents,Mr.and Mrs.Gus Paytas of Monessen,and paternal grandfather,Daniel Doty,Sr.,of Monessen. Friends will be received in the Rhome Funeral Home,Inc.,1209 Grand Blvd.,Monessen,from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Monday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Christ R.C.Church,Monessen. The Rev.James Petrovsky,pastor,will be the celebrant. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Rhome Funeral Home,Inc.,is in charge of arrangements.
