Obituary

Doris Flythe Redwine,95, formerly of Monessen,and a current resident of Crofton,Md., went home to be with the Lord on Monday,Sept. 30,2019. She was a beloved wife, mother,grandmother,sister,role model and friend to many. Born Nov. 7,1923,in Monessen,she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Elnora Flythe and the second oldest of four children. Monnessen is where she met the love of her life,her high school sweetheart,Edward Redwine. They were married for 58 years and raised three daughters;Regina,Marla and Eddora;and a nephew,Edward Rendleman. Doris remained in Pennsylvania until her husband passed away and them moved to Maryland to be close to her daughters.  A lifelong member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Monessen, Doris served as a deaconess,a member of the gospel chorus and various other ministries. She lovingly nurtured and cared for many children as a licensed home day care provider for many years. While her husband served in the U.S. Army during World War II, Doris worked for the federal government in the War Department in Washington,D.C. Doris was very creative and was an outstanding seamstress. Her other hobbies included knitting,crocheting,crafting and baking.  She was a member of the Jokettes social club and was a top-tier seller of Avon and Park Lane Jewelry for the Pennsylvania-Ohio region for many years,earning several awards.Doris is preceded in death by her parents,Herbert and Elnora Flythe;husband,Edward Redwine;and brothers, Earl and John Flythe. She is survived by a sister, Betty McWilliams;three daughters, Regina Campbell (Loius) of Temple Hills, Md.,Marla Redwine (Jimmie III) Denson of Mitchellville, Md.,and Eddora Redwine-Farrell (Kingsley) of Fort Lauderdale, Fla; a devoted nephew,Edward Rendleman of North Las Vegas,Nev.;grandchildren, Nicole (Rahkman) Waller,Jacob (Kara) Denson,Colin Farrell and Jarae Farrell; great-grandchildren, Milan,Mia and Mason Farrell;and a host of nieces, nephews,relatives and beloved friends. Family and friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday,Oct. 5,2019 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church,230 Reed Ave.,Monessen.  Funeral services will commence immediately after,with Bishop Karl Jackson officiating.  Interment will follow at Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Final Celebration of Life services have been gently placed in the hands of HOUSE OF JACKSON MEMORIAL CHAPEL, Donora;Bishop Karl Jackson,funeral director 724-379-5420.
